Water Color Bliss

One of the gifts my sweet hubby got me for my birthday were these AWESOME water colors.

They are SO creamy.  And the colors are bright.  I decided to play around and try some emboss resist.  I pulled out some stamp sets with big sentiments to heat emboss with white embossing powder.

I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Mama Elephant Birthday Wishes set and the Missing you always sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Greetings.

After I heat embossed the sentiment, I taped the paper down to my desk top and wet the paper down, a lot, with a wide, flat, brush.  Then I picked up some of the greens and blues and just droped them over the card panel

The colors went on just like I imagined.  I let the water do it's job and left it  to dry.  After it was dry, I added a second sentiment from the stamp set, trimmed the panel, rounded the corners and placed it on a white card base.

Creating Something From Trash

I've been participating in a Facebook group One Little Tag Craft Challenge.  The goal/ challenge is to create one tag a day this year.  Just sit down and create something, anything to get your creative juices flowing.  One of the optional prompts this past week was to use found items in your tag.

My daughter stopped on her way home from work one evening and picked up some donuts for her siblings for breakfast.  The boxes they came in looked like this:

Love @krispykreme thematic boxes; FAVORITE doughnuts #krispykremekindalove pic.twitter.com/nhVJTUAqNu

Well, I currently couldn't pass that by.  I colored up a part and cut it into a tag.

I layered the tag cut out on a red tag and added some buttons and flowers and a sentiment from a piece of Lawn Fawn pattern paper.
