Lazy Weekend Coloring

I decided that I wasn't going to do anything today.  Ok, not nothing, but just fun stuff.  It was one of those Saturdays that doesn't happen too often, but I managed to avoid putting anything on the schedule that required me to leave the house, with the exception of a very quick trip to the grocery store.
I saw a card on Pinterest as I was killing time earlier this week that used a Polaroid die and washi tape to create the front of the card.   I noticed it again this morning as I was looking through some challenge blogs.  So this was born.

I used the inspiration from the Muse challenge and went with the photo card and the keyword green from Addicted to CAS

My youngest thought the dinosaur was "so cute" and wanted to hug it.  I really liked how the card turned out.  It's amazing how much more I like the cards that come when I'm relaxed and just playing.  No pressure.

I also added this to Kathy's 30 day color challenge at The Daily Marker on indtagram.  Go check it out.  She's pretty inspiring.

Have a relaxing weekend.

Wishing for Spring

I was scrolling through blogs looking at others amazing creations and I noticed a reoccurring theme.  Spring.  We've had a pretty interesting winter in my area; snowier than some, not as bad as Boston :).  They might still be digging out come 4th of July.

The Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog had the same idea.  Think Spring.  They had this very colorful idea board that led me to the Cherry Blossoms that will be blooming here soon.

SSS Pinterest challenge

So I went through my recently reorganized and re-sized stamp collection and found a stamp that looked similar to Cherry Blossoms.  I wanted to do some water coloring and just play. It's been one of those kind of weeks here.  This is what I came up with.

I washed the background with a very watered down blue from my water color set.  I stamped the flowers in staz on black and just started adding color.  I heat set it a few times so that I wouldn't end up with a muddy mess ;)  I thought about adding a third, but decided to leave good enough alone.
